Certified Nursing Assistant/ CNA
The CNA program combines classroom and clinical experience to prepare the student for a career in Nurse Assisting. Students successfully completing this course will be prepared to take the State Certification Exam.
Class consists of on-campus lecture from 8:00am-5:00pm T, Th for the first three weeks. Remaining eight weeks of clinical/lecture at a care home from 6:30am to 4:30pm either M, W or T, Th. Clinical preference will be honored whenever possible. However, studen ts must be prepared to accept either clinical schedule. Care homes to be located within 30 miles of Oroville.
STUDENTS MUST REGISTER IN PERSON AT THE OROVILLE OFFICE. Please note: At the time of registration students are given a packet with instructions including TB/Physical requirements and a Livescan form for background clearance. Both forms must be returned to the office before class begins to be considered successfully enrolled.
Also required: BLS CPR Healthcare Provider card by end of class. Assessment requirement: students must assess at a minimum of 220 before class begins.
